How to Create a Custom Notification on Android
In this tutorial, we will learn how to create a notification with a custom layout in Android. This adds more possibilities over the pre-defined default styles for small and expandable notifications (like BigTextStyle and BigPictureStyle). To create a custom notification, we have to prepare 2 XML layouts for the collapsed view and the expanded view. We send these layouts via RemoteViews to the notification manager by passing them to setCustomContentView, setCustomBigContentView and optionally setCustomHeadsUpContentView. To ensure a consistent look with other notifications, we should use TextAppearance.Compat.Notification text styles and consider setting the DecoratedCustomViewStyle on our NotificationCompat.Builder. To change the contents of our notification at runtime, we can call various setter methods like setTextViewText or setImageViewResource on our RemoteViews. To define a click behavior, we have to call setOnClickPendingIntent and pass it a PendingIntent that either triggers a BroadcastReceiver or starts an activity or service. As usual, we need at least 1 notification channel to display our notification on Android Oreo and higher, and we show and cancel our notification with the NotificationManagerCompat. droidcon SF 2018 - Android malware forensics
Alina Matyukhina Android malware forensics With the rising popularity of Android mobile devices, the amount of malicious applications targeting the Android platform has been increasing tremendously. To mitigate the risk of malicious apps, there is a need for an automated system to detect these applications. Current detection techniques rely on the signatures of well-documented malware, and hence may not be able to detect new malware samples. The majority of these approaches are based on either the analysis of complex features extracted from the files present in Android executables (e.g., DroidSafe) or dynamic features derived from an app's behaviour during runtime. Extraction of such complex features is a tedious task and requires a considerable amount of time and system resources. With rapid increase in the amount and complexity of malware, it is beneficial to employ methods that do not rely on analysis of complex features and are time efficient. In this session, we will speak about an alternative solution. Instead of focusing on individual malware samples, we propose to turn our attention to malware developers. The benefit of this strategy is clear: generating a signature for malware developer rather than individual malware sample, we can effectively characterise all malware samples generated by a particular software developer. The primary premise for our work stems from authorship attribution field, typically used in literary domain. Author attribution domain assumes that each author possesses a unique writing style which can accurately identify his/her works among others. Our hypothesis is that a developer similar to an author has a unique programming style which is reflected through the various components of programs developed by him. By analysing such program components, we can possibly generate the author’s signature that can uniquely identify applications developed by that author. One of the simplest components that can represent an author’s writing style is a set of strings used by a developer throughout binary code. Various string components such as variables, class names, method names, and string literals reflect the writing preferences of the developer. We present an approach to identify an author of an given Android application using the author's signature (profile) comprised of different string components that can potentially reflect the Android author's style. Using these author signatures, we can effectively detect a wide range of existing, as well as any new, malware samples generated by particular authors. The GridLayout essentially consists of a number of invisible horizontal and vertical grid lines that serve to divide the layout view into a series of rows and columns, with each intersecting row and column forming a cell which can, in turn, contain one or more views. The grid lines are referred to as indices, which are numbered starting at 0 for the line at the leading edge of the layout. android studio, android studio tutorial, gridlayout android, android studio cardview, cardview android tutorial, grid layout android studio, android tutorial, cardview android studio, card view android tutorial, card view in android studio, grid layout android, android grid layout, cardview android, android cardview, edmt dev, grid layout in android studio, gridview android studio, gridlayout android studio, cardview, card view android studio, cardview in android studio, android studio grid layout tutorial

Google I/O 2014 - Less code, more services, better Android apps
Speaker(s): Jatin Lodhia, Manfred Zabarauskas Description: It doesn't matter if you're writing a multiplayer Android game, or a simple to-do app, your users are increasingly expanding multi-device access from anywhere. However, sharing state from highscore lists to to-do lists between devices in a way that works well with spotty network connections is hard, error prone and expensive. Wouldn't it be great if Google took care of all that, while providing an easy path to expand as your app grows and matures? In this session, we will show you how to build mobile apps which use new Google technology to simplify data storage, online/offline behavior and synchronization across multiple devices. You'll have full access to the data you store in the Google Cloud platform with app development features and the rich set of data analytics tools to get more use out of your data. You'll see how Android Studio tooling makes this straightforward, and allows you to bring the full power of Google Cloud Platform to your app as your needs grow. Come away equipped with new tools and skills to make your app better than ever, without writing hundreds of lines of code. Watch all Google I/O 2014 videos at: g.co/io14videos

There are many rules and best practices to write clean code on JAVA, but how much do we care about those as Android developers? In this talk, I will discuss some code quality tips and best practices, which make most sense for Android code, with examples of bad and improved versions of code. Furthermore, I will recommend some popular source code analysis tools and explain how we brought them into our attention in our day-to-day development process.

zhiyun smooth 4 buka kotak cardock
The Smooth-4 Smartphone Stabilizer from Zhiyun-Tech, in black, has been designed to provide cine-style functions to content creators using their mobile phones for video capture. When used with the free, downloadable ZY Play app, the control panel enables Android and iOS users to control both gimbal and smartphone camera functions such as focus, zoom, time-lapse, and still photo settings. The Smooth-4's controls reduce the need to touch your phone's screen, thereby minimizing unintended jostling while recording. A dedicated "Vertigo" function emulates the perspective-shifting, dolly/zoom effect dear to many filmmakers. Compared to the ZT Smooth-3, the Smooth-4's controls are more ergonomically laid out and better labeled with icons. The Smooth-4 also has a significantly larger focus/zoom wheel, a PhoneGo mode for quickly grabbing the action, multiple time-lapse functions, and object tracking. With the ability to support smartphones weighing up to 7.4 oz and measuring up to 3.35" high, the Smooth-4 is compatible with almost any mobile phone. In a nod to its filmmaker-centric design, the Smooth-4's large focus wheel even has a witness mark that can be lined up to focus marks you place on its textured band. The wheel is located on the left side of the handgrip, with a button placed to its lower right that lets you toggle between focus and zoom functions, with a button light indicating zoom mode. Scroll and press to select settings with the central Menu/Return button, or choose the Parameter Display button to switch between close shooting, still photo, and full-auto modes. The Smooth-4 offers 300° of pan and 240° of tilt and roll for nimbly capturing your action shots, or for smoothly gliding along more tranquil scenes. Choose between Pan-Following, Locking, Full-Follow, or the full-speed PhoneGo mode to adjust your level of axis control while shooting. Powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, the Smooth-4 features a maximum runtime of up to 12 hours. A USB Type-C port on the handgrip enables you to add a separately available power pack to extend your shooting time even further. An LED display indicates your remaining power, and an output port enables you to charge your phone while shooting with the stabilizer. The Zhiyun-Tech Smooth-4 Smartphone Stabilizer includes a mini tripod, carrying case, and a USB cable. A single 1/4"-20 female thread on the handgrip bottom can be used to mount the stabilizer onto the included tripod or other support, or to attach a compatible accessory. “Ya Allah, ampunilah kesalahanku, kasihanilah aku, berilah petunjuk kepadaku dan berilah rezeki kepadaku” Promo code “CARDOCK”, 20% for the e-commerce checkout at Liqui Moly http://bit.ly/lmcardock for the year 2019 and 2020. Escape from New Cross is a third person Pac-man-like maze game made in Unity. The mazes are randomly generated at runtime using the Recursive Division algorithm. The ghosts have three separate behaviours. Character animation uses motion capture data. Ghost sounds make use of Unity's 3D sound processing capabilities. Developed by Joe Cutting and David Gundry for the Game Development for IGGI course at Goldsmiths, University of London. Source repository at https://github.com/davidgundry/pigi

How to Manage Native C++ Memory in Android (Google I/O '17)
Android native applications typically use Java objects that "own" C++ objects. When the Java garbage collector detects that the Java object is no longer needed, the Java object either explicitly deallocates the C++ object, or decrements its reference count. Choreographing this Java-C++ interaction can be subtle, and mistakes can result in hard-to-diagnose memory corruption. We'll point out interesting pitfalls, and provide advice for avoiding them. If you are an Android C++ developer, you don't want to miss this talk. GDC16 Flash Forward: IK Rig: Procedural Pose Animation
IK Rig is a technology created to share any animations between any characters, and change base animations to produce new actions and motion types for characters. So we turn humans into octopuses; male walk into female crouch; create uneven terrain navigation, weapon carrying and interaction with other characters; all of this at runtime with full artistic control over any aspect. This tech can be applied to video games or to feature films; for main characters or for crowd simulations; for offline or for runtime implementation. While the tech borrows from retargeting, the core principles differ and allow for application at runtime. This introduces realtime reaction to change in environment (obstacles), props (weight and style of operation) and character stats (tired, wounded, etc).
